Basic Elite Administration (Survival Training)

This is the one day course we present when doing a new installation, without the distractions of being in the office. We know we cover a lot of material that day, and it has probably been a while...

Building an Elite Server from the Ground Up

 

Instructor - TJ Gerrity

 

This is absolutely the most comprehensive class on Elite server engineering ever offered. This course will cover every step of building an Elite server using Windows 2008R2 or 2012 Server (your choice) and SQL Server 2008R2 or 2012 (your choice), from configuring the operating system to installting & configuring SQL Server to running Elite clients against the server to configuring and testing printers.

 

After you build the server, we will break it and work with you on troubleshooting skills. Then you'll wipe your VM and repeat the process.

 

Students will leave with the most thorough understanding of Elite server engineering available anywhere, to any Elite customer. If you want to know everything about how an Elite server goes together, this is your course!

In order to ensure that all participants receive the maximum benefit from this advanced workshop, we require that all attendees meet the following criteria:

  • Completion of Basic, Intermediate and Advanced Elite Administration, or demonstration of an understanding of the topics covered in those courses;
  • Strong understanding of the operation of an Elite server;
  • One year working experience administering an Elite server

 

Requirements: 

 

This is a hands-on course, and requires that each attendee bring with them the following items, for use in the course:

  • Intel-based laptop with at least 4GB RAM and an 500GB HD
  • VMWare Workstation or equivalent VM hypervisor;
  • One guest VM running a fresh install of Windows 2008R2 or Windows 2012;
  • SQL SQL Server 2008R2 or 2012 installation media;

Length: 3 days
